The Concept
The SkyLume ER is a circular portal to the sky -- an architectural porthole that brings the infinite depth of open atmosphere into any interior space. Where rectangular panels follow conventional ceiling grid logic, the ER breaks free with a bold round form factor that draws the eye upward and holds it.
Inside the circular housing, Rayleigh scattering nano-diffusion optics reproduce the physics of Earth's atmosphere. Short-wavelength blue light scatters through nano-scale particles suspended in an optical medium, generating a gradient of sky that appears to extend infinitely beyond the surface. The effect is not a printed image or a blue LED glow -- it is optically generated sky with genuine perceived depth.
Available in two diameters, the ER300 delivers a compact 500mm visible sky area within a 600mm outer frame, while the ER600 expands to an 800mm sky view within a 900mm housing. Both models feature a tight 1.5-degree vertical beam angle that projects concentrated daylight straight down, making the ER ideal for focused overhead illumination above dining tables, reception desks, reading areas, and architectural feature points.

Installation
Step 1: Use the included circular template to mark and cut the ceiling opening to the correct diameter (585mm for ER300, 885mm for ER600).
Step 2: Install the LED driver above the ceiling void and connect it to mains power supply.
Step 3: Insert the ER panel into the cutout. Spring clips engage automatically to grip the ceiling material and secure the unit flush.
Step 4: Connect the low-voltage cable from driver to panel. Power on and configure color temperature via the RF remote or Tuya app.

What is the cutout diameter required?
The ER300 requires a 585mm circular cutout for its 600mm outer diameter housing. The ER600 requires an 885mm cutout for its 900mm housing. Both models include a precision circular cutting template to ensure an accurate opening. Minimum ceiling void depth is 220mm to accommodate the panel body and driver.
How heavy is the ER panel?
The ER300 weighs approximately 12 kg, and the ER600 weighs approximately 25 kg. Both are designed for secure ceiling mounting with integrated spring clips. For the heavier ER600, we recommend verifying that ceiling joists or support structure can handle the load. Professional installation is advised for drywall ceilings with the larger model.
Can the ER be surface-mounted instead of recessed?
The ER is primarily designed for recessed installation. However, an optional surface-mount adapter ring is available that allows the panel to sit flush against the ceiling surface without a cutout. Contact our support team for the surface-mount accessory. Note that surface mounting adds approximately 230mm of visible depth below the ceiling plane.
What makes the 1.5-degree beam angle special?
A 1.5-degree beam angle is exceptionally narrow -- it concentrates all light output into a tight vertical column directly below the panel. This creates a dramatic pool of daylight on the surface beneath, similar to the way sunlight enters through a real round skylight at midday. The narrow angle also reduces light spill onto surrounding surfaces, making the ER ideal for accent and task lighting applications.
Does it support circadian lighting schedules?
Yes. Through the Tuya smart platform, you can program automated sunrise-to-sunset schedules that gradually shift color temperature from warm 2,100K morning tones through 7,500K midday daylight and back to warm evening amber. DALI integration also supports building-level circadian automation in commercial environments.
