A Line of Sky.

Slender 1150x140mm linear LED bar delivering an accent stripe of blue sky with 30-degree oblique beam -- compact, efficient, and infinitely spliceable for corridors and architectural highlights.

The Concept

The SkyLume L distills the sky into a single luminous line. At 1150x140mm, this linear LED bar creates an accent stripe of blue sky along corridors, shelving reveals, architectural borders, and ceiling features. Where a full panel would overwhelm a narrow space, the L adds a subtle, sophisticated ribbon of sky that transforms the character of any linear architecture.

Despite its compact form factor, the L delivers 50W of Rayleigh scattering sky illumination through the same nano-particle diffusion optics used in full-size SkyLume panels. The 30-degree oblique beam angle (inherited from the D series) projects angled light that washes adjacent walls with directional warmth while the panel face glows with soft blue sky depth.

The L supports multi-bar splicing for continuous sky lines of any length. Using the formula (n x 1150 - 15mm) x (140 - 15mm), multiple bars connect end-to-end with minimal visible gaps. A corridor might feature 4, 8, or 12 linked bars creating an unbroken ribbon of artificial sky that guides movement and transforms the overhead plane. With only 90mm of ceiling depth required, the L fits virtually any installation scenario.

Key Features

  • Linear Bar Form Factor -- 1150x140mm slender profile designed for corridors, architectural reveals, shelving accents, and ceiling borders where full panels would be too large.
  • 30-Degree Oblique Beam -- Inherited from the D series, the angled output washes adjacent walls with directional sunlight while the panel face maintains blue sky depth.
  • Multi-Bar Splicing -- Connect multiple L bars end-to-end for continuous sky lines. Splicing formula: (n x 1150 - 15mm) x (140 - 15mm) for precise planning of multi-bar runs.
  • Rayleigh Scattering Optics -- Same nano-particle diffusion technology as full-size SkyLume panels compressed into a narrow linear aperture for striking accent illumination.
  • Ultra-Light (1.8 kg) -- Lightweight construction allows mounting on virtually any ceiling material without structural reinforcement.
  • CRI >90 Ra -- Accurate color rendering for retail, hospitality, and residential applications where visual quality matters.
  • Tunable White (2,100K--7,800K) -- Full CCT range from warm amber to cool daylight blue. Match the sky line to the time of day or the desired atmosphere.
  • Minimal Ceiling Depth -- Only 90mm of ceiling void required for flush recessed installation, fitting even shallow ceiling constructions.

What is in the Box

  • 1x SkyLume L Linear Sky Bar
  • 1x Recessed Mounting Clips (set of 4)
  • 1x LED Driver / Power Supply
  • 1x Cutout Template Strip
  • 1x RF Remote Control
  • 1x Installation Guide
  • 1x Splicing Connector Kit (for multi-bar installations)

Installation

Step 1: Mark the ceiling position using the cutout template strip. Cut a 1135x125mm rectangular opening with a minimum depth of 90mm.

Step 2: Install the LED driver above the ceiling and connect it to mains power. For multi-bar installations, plan driver capacity for the total wattage of all connected bars.

Step 3: Secure the mounting clips inside the cutout at each end and center. Snap the L bar into the clips until it seats flush with the ceiling surface.

Step 4: For multi-bar runs, connect adjacent bars using the splicing connector kit. Connect the low-voltage cable, power on, and configure via RF remote or Tuya app.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate the cutout for multiple bars?

For n bars connected end-to-end, use the formula: length = (n x 1150 - 15mm), width = (140 - 15mm) = 125mm. For example, 3 bars require a cutout of (3 x 1150 - 15) = 3435mm long by 125mm wide. The 15mm reduction accounts for the overlap at each splice joint.

How many bars can be spliced together?

There is no fixed maximum. The practical limit depends on your LED driver capacity and ceiling layout. Each bar draws 50W, so a 200W driver supports 4 bars, a 400W driver supports 8, and so on. We have seen installations with 12 or more bars creating continuous sky corridors exceeding 13 meters.

Is the 30-degree oblique angle the same as the D series?

Yes. The L inherits the same 30-degree oblique beam geometry as the D series wallwasher. In the linear bar form, this creates an angled wash along the wall nearest to the bar, similar to sunlight streaming through a long, narrow skylight. The oblique angle adds directional warmth to corridors and passages.

Can the L be surface-mounted instead of recessed?

The L is designed primarily for recessed installation with its 90mm depth requirement. However, it can be surface-mounted using optional trim brackets that frame the bar against the ceiling surface. Surface mounting adds approximately 50mm of visible depth below the ceiling plane.

How does the L compare to a standard LED light bar?

Standard LED light bars produce flat, uniform white light. The SkyLume L produces optically generated sky with Rayleigh scattering depth -- you see a blue gradient with perceived infinite depth, not a flat glowing surface. The difference is immediately visible and transforms the perception of any corridor or linear space.

What driver do I need for multiple bars?

Each L bar requires 50W. For multi-bar installations, select a driver rated for the total wattage plus 20% headroom. For example, 4 bars (200W total) should use a 240W or higher rated driver. Compatible driver specifications are included in the installation guide.

What warranty is included?

Every SkyLume L bar ships with a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. LED drivers are warranted separately for 2 years. Rated lifespan exceeds 15,000 hours of continuous operation.

Can I dim individual bars in a multi-bar run?

When bars are connected in a single run sharing one driver, they dim together as a group. For individual bar control, each bar needs its own driver and control channel. BLE Mesh 5.0 makes individual addressing straightforward in multi-zone installations.
